Mk1 Golf GX - spares or repair

1983 Mk1 Golf GX (1.5 carb engine).
In need of TLC, but although not perfect was being used as my daily driver and right up until MOT expired (at end of September 2014) I was regularly doing an average of 500 miles per week – problems with employers has left me without money to obtain new MOT.
Would make ideal rolling project, or Winter strip down rebuild for someone who has tools and space to carry out work (please note trim which is missing in photos is included with the car).

Only failures in MOT were rear exhaust section (approx £40 purchase cost) and small area of rust to left and right side rear subframe mounting points (pattern repair panels available for about £20 each side – but rear axle and fuel tank need removing for welding to be completed). Approx one days worth of work and £100 in parts if you are able to complete work yourself.
Some additional photos and outline of step-by-step instructions for the welding work are available at s297.photobucket.com/user/mar890fa21/library/Golf%20GX

Car comes with eight (8) Tarantula wheels (including 6 legal tyres), some spares and selection of repair / maintenance manuals.

Very reluctant sale – however I have nowhere to store, or work on the car and really don’t want to send it to scrappers, but need to move it on asap. Therefore taking offers starting at scrap value of £100.

apologies for the multiple listings - the vdublinks website would not allow editing of my original listing, but also seems to have failed to allow the original to be deleted after this ammended one was created.
